Natural foundations are a social enterprise based in Essex who are passionate about getting children outside to play.
Studies have shown that playing outside regularly improves children’s health, confidence, risk-awareness, social skills and can also improve their ability to learn. In Scandinavia forest schools – taking the classroom outside – have become a normal part of a child’s schooling.
We run a range of activities for early years settings and primary schools, as well as holidays clubs during the school holidays. Our activities take place in outdoor venues all around the South of Essex or we offer a mobile service where we can come to you. We have a geodesic dome for shelter, but all our activities are designed to take place in all weathers and we provide children with outdoor clothing and all the equipment to enable this to happen safely.
We can tailor your activity timetable to your needs fitting in with your current topics and mapping to the EYFS, Key Stage One or Key Stage Two. We offer both half and full days. You can choose from a range of activities, including:
Water Science Experiments
Rocks and Minerals
Forest School Activities
Problem Solving Activities
Treasure / Scavenger Hunts
Theme Days eg Jungle, Robin Hood
Campfires / Breadmaking
Mud Pie Kitchen
Songs / Making music
